Portraits with our God Daughter!

We took the opportunity to take some professional portraits with our god daughter when she came to visit us in September with Stacey. Stacey was so nice to let us dress her in a Wildcat dress for some of the pictures:) We have to take advantage of it while we can! She was a trooper!

Apple Annie's Orchard

We visited Apple Annie's Orchard in Willcox, Arizona! The place is amazing! There are fresh fruit trees, fresh vegtables, a huge pumpkin patch, amazing sunflowers, and a corn maze! We took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick from some of the biggest pumpkins I have seen in years! We got 3 pumpkins! Then we tried some kettle corn and it was delicious! Ray and I had some of the best homemade ice cream EVER! I had pumpkin and Ray had apple. When it was all said and done, we were tired, dusty and full!

San Antonio 2009

The DCI show brought us to San Antonio this year! Although it was VERY hot and humid there, we had fun! We found The Alamo and took a quick walk around. There is not much left that is from the real Alamo...a lot of it is re-created! We went to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and rode some pretty awesome rides! We were ready for a nice cold shower when we got back to the hotel though! We went to the Riverwalk...ate some yummy food, walked around and took a boat cruise around the river. It was so neat down there! The trolly ride took us around San Antonio to see the sights including The Tower of America where we rode to the top to see San Antonio from a whole new perspective! Then we found ourselves at the Alamodome for the DCI show! Thank goodness it was inside!! While I cheer on the Cavaliers...Ray cheers on the Blue Devils. The Blue Devils prevailed and took first place with Cavaliers in second! We had fun, but were ready to come home to our dry heat!

4th of July Week in San Diego!

I just got back from a week with friends and family in San Diego! It was a blast although it was hard to be there without Ray. We spent the 4th of July on Tom and Bonnie's boat where we anchored out in the bay for fireworks. It was freezing for us Arizonians....but soo worth it! We saw about 5 fireworks shows on the water...amazing! The rest of the week I spent with the Hothems and the Reeves at their palce in Pacific Beach. Ariah LOVES the beach and I even went down there with her a few times! She also found another love...my Starbucks drink! Gotta start her early! We went back out on the boat where we went Jet Skiing. It was fun except thanks to Tom I got completely soaked!! All worth it. Tom invited a chef from the Hotel Del Coronado on the boat to cook for us. It was delicious. It was a nice week and I am so thankful to have such great family and friends.

Summer Fun!

Well, summer is here and I am enjoying days at the pool and scrapbooking! I am also enjoying the freedom to go to Phoenix and visit our god daughter Ariah and her parents Ben and Stacey. I had fun on my last visit! We went to Little Gym, swimming, the park, and to the Phoenix Children's Museum! It was so much fun. She is growing so fast! I learned that shutting doors can be entertaining forever and that Blankie is the number 1 priority these days! I am looking forward to spending a week with them in July in San Diego! Coming home from Phoenix was and adventure in itself as it took me 5 hours and 45 minutes to get home! The Sunshine Blvd exit and I became good friends as I sat there for 3 hours waiting for the highway to re-open!

Dad Leyva's 60th Birthday Celebration

Sunday April 26th was Ray's dad's 60th birthday. To celebrate we went to Benihana's with Sandy, Mike, Sadie and Eli. The kids had a blast watching the cook make the food and the whole family enjoyed some good food and fun together. Afterwards, we went to the house to eat some cake and open some presents. One of the highlights of the night was seeing our nephew Eli sing to the Beatles. It was adorable! Check it out! It was a nice night and it was great to be able to celebrate together.

KKPsi 80th Anniversary

Ray and I attended the KKPsi 80th Anniversary celebration. It was fun to see some old friends and re-connect after all these years. It was held at the El Parador Restaurant in Tucson.
