Portraits with our God Daughter!

We took the opportunity to take some professional portraits with our god daughter when she came to visit us in September with Stacey. Stacey was so nice to let us dress her in a Wildcat dress for some of the pictures:) We have to take advantage of it while we can! She was a trooper!

Apple Annie's Orchard

We visited Apple Annie's Orchard in Willcox, Arizona! The place is amazing! There are fresh fruit trees, fresh vegtables, a huge pumpkin patch, amazing sunflowers, and a corn maze! We took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick from some of the biggest pumpkins I have seen in years! We got 3 pumpkins! Then we tried some kettle corn and it was delicious! Ray and I had some of the best homemade ice cream EVER! I had pumpkin and Ray had apple. When it was all said and done, we were tired, dusty and full!

San Antonio 2009

The DCI show brought us to San Antonio this year! Although it was VERY hot and humid there, we had fun! We found The Alamo and took a quick walk around. There is not much left that is from the real Alamo...a lot of it is re-created! We went to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and rode some pretty awesome rides! We were ready for a nice cold shower when we got back to the hotel though! We went to the Riverwalk...ate some yummy food, walked around and took a boat cruise around the river. It was so neat down there! The trolly ride took us around San Antonio to see the sights including The Tower of America where we rode to the top to see San Antonio from a whole new perspective! Then we found ourselves at the Alamodome for the DCI show! Thank goodness it was inside!! While I cheer on the Cavaliers...Ray cheers on the Blue Devils. The Blue Devils prevailed and took first place with Cavaliers in second! We had fun, but were ready to come home to our dry heat!

4th of July Week in San Diego!

I just got back from a week with friends and family in San Diego! It was a blast although it was hard to be there without Ray. We spent the 4th of July on Tom and Bonnie's boat where we anchored out in the bay for fireworks. It was freezing for us Arizonians....but soo worth it! We saw about 5 fireworks shows on the water...amazing! The rest of the week I spent with the Hothems and the Reeves at their palce in Pacific Beach. Ariah LOVES the beach and I even went down there with her a few times! She also found another love...my Starbucks drink! Gotta start her early! We went back out on the boat where we went Jet Skiing. It was fun except thanks to Tom I got completely soaked!! All worth it. Tom invited a chef from the Hotel Del Coronado on the boat to cook for us. It was delicious. It was a nice week and I am so thankful to have such great family and friends.

Summer Fun!

Well, summer is here and I am enjoying days at the pool and scrapbooking! I am also enjoying the freedom to go to Phoenix and visit our god daughter Ariah and her parents Ben and Stacey. I had fun on my last visit! We went to Little Gym, swimming, the park, and to the Phoenix Children's Museum! It was so much fun. She is growing so fast! I learned that shutting doors can be entertaining forever and that Blankie is the number 1 priority these days! I am looking forward to spending a week with them in July in San Diego! Coming home from Phoenix was and adventure in itself as it took me 5 hours and 45 minutes to get home! The Sunshine Blvd exit and I became good friends as I sat there for 3 hours waiting for the highway to re-open!

Dad Leyva's 60th Birthday Celebration

Sunday April 26th was Ray's dad's 60th birthday. To celebrate we went to Benihana's with Sandy, Mike, Sadie and Eli. The kids had a blast watching the cook make the food and the whole family enjoyed some good food and fun together. Afterwards, we went to the house to eat some cake and open some presents. One of the highlights of the night was seeing our nephew Eli sing to the Beatles. It was adorable! Check it out! It was a nice night and it was great to be able to celebrate together.

KKPsi 80th Anniversary

Ray and I attended the KKPsi 80th Anniversary celebration. It was fun to see some old friends and re-connect after all these years. It was held at the El Parador Restaurant in Tucson.

Spring Break in San Diego!

We decided to take a trip to San Diego for my Spring Break! It was a much needed break from the day to day grind! We went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park and took a ride on the Photo Caravan Safari! It was awesome and I recommend it to everyone! We rode around and saw giraffes and rhino's up close and personal-just look at the pictures! Yes, that is how close we were! We got to feed the giraffes, watch rhinos roll in the mud and learn a little bit about the animals. It was a quick 2 hour tour. We also got to take a sunset cruise on Tom and Bonnie's boat. It was beautiful, but a bit chilly as the sun went down! We visited La Jolla, Old Towne, the USS Midway and of course our favorite place Canes Restaurant on Mission Beach! We didn't visit the beach much as it was still a bit chilly, so we just watched others play in the freezing water!

My Birthday!!

Well, you guessed it! Another year has flown by and yes I am 33 already! I have had an eventful week so far! It all started with a surprise birthday dinner at PF Chengs. My parents came down from Phoenix and I was surprised by them, Ray's parents, Kerry, Leslee and Kristel! I only started to get suspicious as we were driving over and in the parking lot!

My actual birthday night Ray's mom made me dinner...chile con carne...yummy! They got me a little cake shaped like a dog! Too cute! It was a very nice night!

I have one more birthday celebration up in Phoenix on Saturday with friends and family. Needless to say, by the time I am done I will have had enough sweets to put Willie Wonka to shame! Only to turn around and celebrate Ray's birthday on Friday! Whew!

Thanks to everyone who made my birthday so special! I love you all!

Cone Head!

Misty has a new nickname...cone head! Poor thing! Due to a nail bed infection on her back paw, she has to wear a cone for 10 days and she is NOT a happy camper! This was the 5th cone she was fitted for as she got out of the other 4! And Mocha, doesn't get it! She keeps looking at Misty and wondering what happened! Needless to say, Friday the 20th can't get here soon enough! Hopefully, she will be better by then:)

A Trip to the Zoo!

Ray and I took a trip up to Phoenix to spend time with our god daughter and Ben and Stacey! We had a weekend of fun together! We took a trip to the Phoenix Zoo to see the animals! We went to dinner and enjoyed some good food and some good laughs! Then we jammed out together at Rock Band and woke the baby up! She jammed out with us after that (hence the picture with daddy's hat!). We can't believe how much she has grown...she is already taking her first small steps and soon we will be celebrating 1 year with her! Wow!

New Year's Eve 2008-Our 6th Anniversary!

New Year's Eve brings our 6th Anniversary! It's hard to believe it has been 6 years already. We woke up with really no plans for our day. However, it turned into a busy day! We decided to take Mocha and Misty up to Mt. Lemmon to play in the snow. The girls had lots of fun running around in the snow...Misty had the most fun! It was a beautiful day up on the mountain and we had a nice time. Misty had so much fun she did not want to get in the car to go home! We then celebrated with dinner at Benihana's. After a nice dinner, we went to see Marley and Me. It was a good movie especially if you are a dog lover....even Ray liked it! We made it home with 15 mintues to spare and rang in the New Year with Dick Clark and saw the ball drop! We decided that MAYBE next year we need to experience the ball drop in person! We'll see what happens!
